After consulting with APP I determined that the Clutch was bad and needed replacement. I ordered new clutch for LG WT5001CW direct drive washer. Could not get the wash tub impeller out, did not like to chisel so I used a drill and cut out the center of the impeller. The Tub nut 38mm was rusted on shaft so I cut the nut with angle grinder and the cut the splined shaft off, I used a hub or gear puller eventually to push the Clutch out once I had undone all the bolts holding the clutch motor etc, had to order new 38mm nut/ washer etc Tipped the machine to access Clutch and found the 25mm nut and washer on the floor, so the Clutch noise was caused by bad assembly at LG assembly, this is first repair since new. Cleaned the tub and reassembly was straight forward. I could not have done it without APP Video help,
