Randy N Joliet , IL July 31, 2016 A loud thumping noise and a burning plastic smell After watching Appliance Parts Pros U-Tube video it was VERY EASY to disassemble my LG washer. Just a matter of learning the sequence. The noise and smell diagnosis was spot on. I found a badly broken spider. I ordered the spider , bearings , seals and a new front door boot. The washer was dissembled on Tuesday evening. Parts were ordered that evening and arrived on Thursday. Thursday evening I reassembled the washer. From start to finish it 1 hour and 30 minutes and it was washing clothes. The washer has been working fine. No need to buy a new one yet.
