Let me first say that I did not intend to fix this microwave due to the age, however there are literally zero new microwaves that are small enough (height and depth) to fit. After uninstalling microwave I tried simply replacing the fuse hoping that it just got tired after 21 years of service. Upon testing the fuse blew about 2 seconds after pressing start. Due to another review on appliancepartspros.com I suspected the HV capacitor. I was able to confirm this through testing with a multi-meter per the service pamphlet I found inside the microwave near the control panel (also a few you tube videos helped). I replaced the diode as well for good measure. Appliance Parts Pro's is my go to source after they helped fix my washing machine.
