I initially thought the issue was going to be with a spring...but it turned out that the plastic piece that held the spring had broken off. So, a few dollars later, and only a few days later, I had the replacement part and the microwave was fixed.
It took a bit to figure out how to get the microwave door off, but unscrewing the top grate and removing it allowed me to pull the door off by lifting up. Then, I had to take the plastic piece that is inside the door and around the edge. That just popped off. Then, I just had to insert the plastic piece where the old one was and attach the spring. Easy job...took five minutes.
