The light's position at the back of the microwave hood, meant we should have been thinking in reverse about righty tights, lefty loosey. Instead attempt to remove light broke it off. HOW TO GET THE BULB BASE OUT OF THE SOCKET? To even see the situation we had to use a mirror, a flashlight and crane our necks. We took a photo of the light socket (image in the mirror). An employee at the local BEST hardware store recommended using a tapered CARROT stub. It worked like a charm. New bulb inserted and working.
