I did my research and based on what I discovered via chat rooms, etc... I was pretty sure the problem was the Magnetron. Of course Samsung wouldn't stand behind it! The part was under a 10 year warranty but I had to pay their technician to come and diagnose then come back to repair. So I chatted with a rep from Appliance Pros and she confirmed that the symptoms sounded like I needed to replace the Magnetron. I ordered it, It arrived two days earlier than the estimated delivery date! It took me 10 minutes to swap parts and so far we have no further issues with the unit. Very pleased!
