Easy DIY fix. Removed 7 screws that held the bottom panel of the microwave in place. Unfastened the clip-on power supply to the old motor, removed two screws holding the old motor, popped it out , put in the new one, and buttoned everything up. A couple of online videos caution about the lethal charge stored in a microwave capacitor, but this project doesn’t expose any of those components— just the clip to the motor and the surface light.
