I pulled the oven out, unplugged it, took off the door and removed the bottom drawer so I could get closer to the inside. Used a flashlight to help me see the screws to undo. Unscrewed the bracket holding the element. Unscrewed the plate attaching the element to the oven wall. Unscrewed the screws holding the wires together. Then reassembled.
Since it was pulled away from the wall and door off etc, I cleaned the oven and the floor under it. Then plugged it back in, pushed it back into place, making certain that the stabilizer snapped into place.
And now I have a new, working broiler element. I disposed of the old one properly at our local recycling area, in the metal parts bin.
The element arrived within a day and works perfectly. Then I broiled a tenderloin fillet for dinner the next night. :)
Thank you,
Sharon
