Same problem as everyone else... screws holding igniter were frozen/stuck solid.
Remove gas burner and THEN attempt to remove stuck screws - it will be a lot easier. On my stove just remove two screws, lift out - then ignitor screws are easily accessible.

I spend more time trying to find appliance screws that would fit - couldn't find them so used machine bolts/washers/nuts instead.
