Ordered a new gear and housing. But first I took it apart without knowing anything about it. I would say it is a very simple repair. Also appliance parts pros made it super easy to find the part I needed and got it to me fast. You will need a small punch and hammer. There is a snap ring, I just used a flat head screwdriver, but definitely would have been easier with snap ring pliers.
