Douglas K Winchester , VA November 29, 2014 The rotary start switch was malfunctioning and the securing bracket and knob were broken I removed the back splash that held the three operating switches. I then removed the rotary switch from the back of the panel and installed the new one. Since one side of the plastic hold down leg was broken off (area that holds the switch to the back of the back splash panel) I made a metal bracket to hold the switch in place. This saved me $60.00 for the price of a new panel. I believe the panel should have had a metal backing like the one in the video that shows you how to take the switch out. Apparently some of the GE models have them. Any way, the parts that I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros. fit perfectly and arrived a lot sooner than I anticipated.
