The bottom of the silverware basket was showing serious wear on the underside and pieces of it were coming apart. I had several pieces of silverware go through the bottom of the basket. I ordered a new basket which solved the problem and works great. I might add the Kitchenaid dishwasher is about 12 years old and we are the second owners and it still works great.
