Doris P Amherst , VA February 08, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Gas Range KGCT365TWH0 Kitchenaid Cooktop Kgct365twh0: Spark igniter was cracked on kitchenaid cooktop. How to replace Ignitor/Surface. Shut off the gas and electric. Then removed the screws from the bottom the cover easily fell off. Gently pulled the wire and the clamp off the igniter, replaced the old igniter with the new, put the wire and clamp back. Plugged the cook-top and switched the gas on. And wallah it worked! For us it was a two man job because of the weight of the wooden shelf underneath our cook-top set up, But if your set up underneath is clear it is a one person job, but much easier to have someone there to help remove the bottom cover and help with the screws.
