William B Clarkston , WA September 06, 2014 Appliance: Model MAGIC CHEF S68D-3CXW One of the two springs which control the oven door (closed/open/broil) broke without the two springs the oven door would barely stay shut and when opened fall like a heavy rock I moved the oven from its custom slot in the counter, unplugged it, and then took a battery powered screwdriver and removed all 14 screws which hold all of the sheet metal together, and retrieved both the broken and unbroken springs. I got on the phone locally, as I start locally (and live in a small town in southeastern Washington), and could find no springs AND was also told they were no longer made. I went to the internet, found AppliancePartsPros, and VOILA!-ordered two replacement springs, which I installed in less than 15 minutes when I received them. I am GLAD that AppliancePartsPros is around, as this stove was made in 1976. 8 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
