Replaced both drum rollers and axles to eliminate the noise. I was able to rotate the left drum roller by hand and it was difficult to move, making the same noise that I heard when the dryer was running. The roller shaft was scored. The nuts removing the axles were very tight and required a good box wrench to apply leverage. Make sure you wear gloves to protect your hands. I also replaced the belt, which was not in bad shape. The videos and information provided online made it easy to get the job done.They also helped me to diagnose the problem without taking the machine apart. The only tricky part was making sure that I put the belt back on correctly and I had to watch the video a couple of times to ensure that I had done this right.
