I took apart the front of the dryer, the lint trap, and removed the drum to access the pulley. I was amazed that all that had to come off to get to it, but it really isn't that hard. I decided to replace the belt at the same time as long as I had it apart. The new parts worked / fit perfectly and the problem is solved. Note: Non't take the idler pulley arm bolt loose, just remove the retainer clip and slide the old pulley and washers off the arm. Make sure to keep the washers because the new pulley doesn't come with new washers.
