Per information on the AppliancePartsPros web site I bought from them a part number 411253 solenoid, installed it and fixed the problem. Installation was straight forward.
Concerning a separate problem, AppliancePartsPros could not provide a discontinued main control unit for the same range but they suggested a company called CoreCentricSolutions might be able to rebuild the discontinued part, which they did to my complete satisfaction at a very reasonable cost. Thank you AppliancePartsPros for the recommendation. You saved me from buying a new range.
