Because my microwave door would not close and lock, I thought it was the door latch hook. After reading a previous review on-line from a customer, I felt I could do this repair. The advice was to use a simple kitchen knife and slowly remove the trim from the door which I did. Unfortunately, that is where the good part of the story ends. When I removed the old latch, it wasn't broken. What had happened was the small piece of plastic which holds the tension spring had broken off and that was the cause. The spring had nothing to adhere to on the door. I imagine it just snapped off from opening/closing of the door. Nothing could be done! Sorry to say, I have ordered a new microwave.
However, if the scenario was different, it would have worked. Also, 5 stars for sending the part so quickly, 18 hours later. it was at my door. Thank you, Janet H.
