Rebecca M Seattle , WA July 09, 2022 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LLR6144BQ0 Whirlpool Washer Llr6144bq0: The top section of the agitator stopped turning in my old top loading washing machine. How to replace Agitator Grease. I am a 67-year-old woman with a Whirlpool washing machine (almost!) half my age. I have had no problems with it until last week when the top section of the agitator stopped turning. A quick Google search told me it was probably the agitator gear assembly. My go-to appliance repair company declined the job; the washer was too old and they couldn’t guarantee that they would have parts and that something else wouldn’t break during repair. I thought I’d be shopping for a whole new laundry set when a friend sent me a link to AppliancePartsPros.com and one of the How-To videos. It confirmed my diagnosis and demonstrated the repair process step by step. AppliancePartsPros.com had a parts repair kit for my exact model and I received it just a few days later. The Whirlpool Factory Authorized kit very complete in having replacement parts for those that were broken as well as a couple of seals that likely should be replaced. I followed along with the video using only a socket wrench set as I disassembled the agitator assembly, installed the new parts and reassembled it. The video even told me what size socket to use. Easy! Anyone with a little more experience and confidence than I had could complete the job in half the time I did. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com! I highly recommend this company!
