My Kitchen Aid Trash Compactor quit compacting one morning and wasn't quite sure what had happened to it. I found a little metal tab lying on the floor next to the drawer and didn't know where it came from. I decided to look up the symptoms on my favorite repair parts site (AppliancePartsPros.com) and easily found the problem. It was a broken actuator switch. I was able to look up the parts, watch a repair video, and order the parts. They were shipped and received in a reasonable amount of time. I was able to do the repair by watching the step-by-step video and had the compactor back into the cabinet working again.
