My old Kenmore washer suddenly refused to drain. I emptied it by hand, and started searching for causes. After watching some of the troubleshooting videos, it appeared to be a faulty lid switch. I used a meter to check for continuity at the plug, found none, and replaced the switch. It took a little longer than expected due to my cramped working space, but the fix worked well.
