I replaced the snubber ring and suspension springs. Overall, it was a bit of a task, but not overly complicated and the instructional videos and comments others had left made it very straightforward to conduct the replacement. It does take a bit of muscle to get the springs back on, but with a little effort it can be done. Also, I've seen recommendations that both parts be replaced at the same time and I definitely agree. The snubber ring was fully worn and a contributor to the problem.
This seems to have improved the problem and I am now able to get a few more years out of this washing machine. Thanks!
