After first checking to make sure the water line was ok (it was and I had good pressure) I removed a panel at the bottom of the refrigerator (refrigerator was unplugged). I removed one screw to detach the water valve unit. I replaced each connection one at a time. 2 electric, 3 water connections. Reattached the valve and replaced the cover. Plugged the refrigerator in and tested. Water came out and after a while so did ice. Some air was in the line so I cleared it by dispensing about 1-2 gals of water.
Still have water collecting inside. Next step is to defrost the unit and make sure drain is clear.
Have some rust too on the door around the dispenser (our ps is a black refrigerator, not stainless steel). So I plan to remove the door and repaint it too.
Saved a lot of money doing it myself.
