I figured if there was no water getting to the icemaker and it was getting to the water spigot in the door then it must be the valve going to the icemaker which is half of the double valve in the back of the refrigerator. I watched the video on the APP website and ordered the part. It came in a couple of days and I pulled the refrigerator out by putting a rope around the back of it and sliding it down pretty low - made it pretty easy. Also put a sheet of cardboard on the floor to protect it when I rolled it out. The repair was close enough to the video that it was easy. I didn't attach the valve to the refrigerator with the screws right away because I wanted to check for leaks. This turned out to be a bad idea because nothing worked. I pulled the tube out that feeds the icemaker and made sure it was clear and put it into a bucket. I tried the test with the wire into the holes in the icemaker to turn the water on and it didn't work. Then I thought about it and from prior experience with different appliances and electronics I figured that perhaps I should hook up the valve to the refrigerator with the screws which would maybe make contact with the ground part of the circuit. Right away the valve opened and water shot into the bucket. I put it all back together and cleaned the floor and wall and painted the wall while I had the refrigerator out. All done in about 4 hours. Not bad. Thanks APP!!
