This was discovered in a home inspection at my wife's home we were selling, it had not been noticed before. The fix couldn't have been easier. Just pulled out the old gasket and pressed the new one in place, problem solved. The videos online show the gasket as being in the door, but this one in the Maytag is in the washer tub surround instead, but the fix is still the same, just pull out the old one and press in the replacement.
