Adam B Phoenix , AZ February 13, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer FAHE4044MW0 My wife loaded a comforter in the washer it rubbed through the tank cover by being overfull during spin cycle Went to repair clinic .com which had a full video on washer disassembly. Removed 2 square drive screws and push up front cover to remove. Remove 2 phillips screws going into top cover that allowed it to pivot up. Unplugged lid switch, it said to remove swich but it looked fragile so i just unplugged in and sqeezed the harness retainers to remove for more access to plug it back in later. Removed 1 phillips screw holding fabric softener dispenser and push on retainers to pop it off top cover. Pivot top cover up to access the tank cover. Sqeeze hose clamp and remove hose, then remove it from the hose holder. Pull all the tank cover locks around the tank while pulling up and the cover will pop off. Dont forget to transfer the hose holder to the new cover and hold with a zip tie. It is much easier to do with it not installed. Line up all the cover lock tabs with the tank teeth. Easier said then done as this was the hardest part. Once they were all lined up, I tapped down on the cover at each tab until they all snapped on. Then installed the rest in reverse order.
