This screw is a genuine General Electric part, sold individually. This screw can be used as a replacement part for a refrigerator. A screw can suffer damage in the lifespan of a refrigerator. It can also be easily lost or misplaced. Screws are small parts and are usually installed in multiples to ensure components are reliably attached, so one screw loosening or going missing might not necessarily affect the operability of the refrigerator. However, if the components loosen or the screw suffers damage that strips the part, such as punctures or erosion to the metal material from general wear and tear or from a direct impact, the screw should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually. This screw is compatible with the following appliance brands: General Electric, Hotpoint, RCA, and Americana.
I ordered the new slides for the shelves, the order came in a couple of days. All parts were there. The husband installed new slides and bearings in about 20 minutes with minimal effort. He said the hardest part was contorting his torso to be able to use the screwdriver. All good thank you. Read more

This is a genuine OEM replacement nut that is used on convection oven fans. This nut holds the fan onto the spindle. If the nut becomes lost during repairs to the fan, it will need to be replaced before the fan will work. This nut locks the fan to the spindle to turn and move the air around inside the oven. The fan helps the food to cook more evenly and reduces areas in the oven that are not cool enough or hot enough. If the fan is not working, the convection oven will not cook correctly.Convection ovens are different from regular ovens, and the fan is part of the reason. Convection ovens use the fan and an exhaust system to move the heat around inside the oven to cook food more evenly and faster. Many convection ovens have a setting that allows the oven to be used as a regular oven. If the nut is missing and the fan is inoperable, the oven can be used for regular cooking if it has this feature. Otherwise, the convection oven should not be used until the nut is replaced. This nut is a silver metal replacement part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in convection ovens made by GE and Kenmore.
I took the cover off and the fan had separated from the bushing. Ordered a new fan and nut and it took all of 5 minutes to replace. Probably saved $159.99 service call repair and that is with a coupon. Any one can do this repair, just make sure the oven is cold as you will come in contact with metal parts. Read more

1) Unscrewed the metal pieces behind the switch panel. You'll notice 3 screws. Afterwards, I realized that I just needed to remove the screws to the left and right of the switch box. The box then slides out. If you take out the third that connects the box to the wire cover, just remember to screw that back in before you replace the box. 2) To make sure I didn't place the wiring in the wrong place, I basically took the wiring out one by one and placing it into the new switch. 3) Place the new... A 1/4-20 x 5/8 hex washer-head machine screw that secures brackets, panels, and internal components in your appliance. Using the correct fastener keeps assemblies tight to help reduce vibration, rattling, and alignment issues.
The screw that holds the agitator in place appeared to have worn and rusty threads. I tried to replace it with a standard hardware store 1/4-20 hex head screw but that wouldn't grip. I had thoughts of needing to tap the hole, but eventually bought the specified screw, which is a specialist. It has tapered threads, a shoulder, rubber bushings, an attached washer and a hex head. I spent a lot of time trying other things but when the real part arrived it only took a few minutes to set it in place. ... Read more

While trying to access and clean brass jet orifices I wrenched the brass nut with chamfer too much (it was seized) and twisted the jet holder to the breaking point and collapsed the main front tubing. I had to hacksaw the rest off. After receiving replacement parts from APPs I was able to reassemble everything in a half hour or so. I lifted the unit countertop height and bridged my cutout with a couple of 2x4's to set it on. From there it was outside trim removal (about 20 screws) then you... Read more

I replaced the upper and mid spray arms and bearings, removed filters and screens and cleaned everything. Pulled pump and replaced the connector and the collection sump. Repair took about 3 hours and went very smoothly thanks to the AppliancePros video! I'm on the east coast so I could not believe it when the parts arrived less than 24 hours after I placed the order! Prices were great too . . . I'm a customer for life and my dishwasher cleans the dishes like new now! Read more

I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. I no longer have to listen to... Read more
