Ron T Tracy , CA October 28, 2023 GE microwave dim screen/ won't cook. I found that the wire harness connectors on the thermostat cutout switch were burnt and making intermittent electrical contact. I ordered a new thermostat and complete wiring harness for it. It took less than an hour to replace the thermostat and harness. There is one sensor at the very bottom that was a little difficult to reach, so I had to remove the bottom cover of the microwave about half way so I could reach in and remove the old and reinstall the new harness connector. Overall it was a pretty easy job and now the microwave works good again. Saved my neighbor about $500 compared to the cost of installing a new built-in microwave. Note: you will need a tamper proof torx socket to remove the outside top cover.
