Description

This is a genuine relay used in generators. The purpose of the relay is to turn on or off the starter circuit without being wired into the starter circuit itself. Without the use of a generator relay, the tool would have heavy-duty wiring connecting directly to the starter switch. This could cause shocks and would be more easily damaged than the relay part. If the relay is damaged or malfunctioning, it can cause the starter to stop working so the generator can no longer be used. If this occurs, the part will need to be replaced.Before making the replacement, the generator should be turned off and unplugged. Work gloves and basic tools may be needed to make the replacement. The generator will need to be disassembled to gain access to the relay in the starter assembly.
