Description

This replacement oil pressure switch is designed for a generator. The oil pressure switch is responsible for monitoring the oil pressure in the engine. If the pressure drops below a specific threshold required for safety, the switch trips and turns on the low oil pressure warning indicator. Operating the generator without sufficient oil pressure could lead to permanent damage to the engine, or even its destruction.The oil pressure switch is not subject to movement-related wear and tear. However, it can suffer from internal faults. If the oil pressure switch fails, the user will have no way of knowing if the pressure drops too low, which could lead to serious problems. Short of testing the switch with a voltmeter regularly, the only way to tell if it is working properly is to watch for it to light up when the engine first cranks.
