Description

This is a genuine OEM replacement fuel shutoff valve found on portable Generac generators. It is found on the bottom of the fuel tank and is designed to regulate the amount of fuel going into the fuel lines. If the fuel shutoff valve is damaged or if fuel is leaking, the valve should be replaced. Fuel tank repairs should be done in a well-ventilated area. Before attempting to replace the valve, drain the fuel from the tank into a clean receptacle. Remove the bolts holding the fuel tank and remove the tank. Turn the fuel tank over to access the shutoff valve. Loosen the hose clamp to get the fuel hose off. Next, unscrew the tightening nut to remove the old valve. Install the new valve and tighten the nut. Reattach the fuel hoses and clamps. Reinstall the tank to generator. Refill the fuel tank. Check the new valve for leaks before using it. A wrench set and pliers are needed to complete this repair. The replacement can be made in less than half an hour.This is a heavy-duty metal part that is sold as an individual unit.
