Replaced both sets of door cams on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The most important thing to know is that you DO NOT have to remove the doors from the refrigerator to replace BOTH sets of cams. You just have to remove the lower grill which is a snap fit (I also turned off the water and unplugged the unit). My fridge has an ice and water dispenser where the water and electrical lines go through the cams on the left side. Be sure to order the correct parts as the cam holes on the freezer side... I had to take out the bottom drawer that holds pans. Disconnect the power and pull the oven out. Removed door, rear panel that held the screws for the side panel and lift up and out the side panel. After that it was straight forward as to replacing the hinge. Spent more time cleaning the florr where the oven was than installing the hinge. Read more

This oven was a Kenmore model #66595822003. I replaced both spring hinges. This oven was a white oven so it took the MFG# WP8053807 hinge (order two of them). They are the same hinge. No left or right. To get the door off the oven, open the door all the way open, I installed pins (preferably only 1/4" long) in the holes of both hinges. Then remove the spring steel retainers above old hinges in the oven frame. These holds hinges in place. Now close the door until hinge stops on pins. Lift up... Read more

After years of replacing the female electric latch switch that controlled the operation of the machine, I discovered that the window/door's handle's connection to its male latching hook had failed. The two were no longer interconnected. Also, the window/door's frame and hinge were materially "fatigued" meaning the hinge/body assembly was allowing the window/door to sag - causing the misaligned door/window to machine body electric latch switch to break when the window/door was closed. I replaced the hinges and hinge mounts. Upon inspection of the mounts, it seems that they had become slightly deformed on the lower portion, where the heel of the hinge applies pressure to the frame. Probably didn't need new springs, just the mounts, but I just kept em in anyway. Easy fix, anybody can do it, good instructions in the kit. Very pleased with appliancepartspro speed of delivery. I removed the old hinges and replaced them with the new hinges. It was probably the easiest repair I've ever had to do. Read more

Discovered that the old part had broken, preventing the door from leveraging closed into the bearing valley. Metal-on-metal rubbing was also a clue. Pulled the old piece out of the hole (only the shaft remained) and popped in the new bearing. Took all of 10 minutes, and everything works great now. Read more
