I was able to order new hinge receiver brackets for the door. The repair was not that bad. I just had to take off the lower door, take the two trim pieces off the sides and unscrew the screws holding the oven into the face of the cabinet. Then slide it out about halfway and put a step stool under the front to keep it from tipping over. Then it was just a matter of taking off everything around the sides until I could take the brackets off, put the new brackets on, and put everything back... Read more

• Door won't close

The doors on our double wall oven (pro model) have been sagging partially open forever. I was told by someone somewhere that replacing the hinges wouldn't help. Well, this combination of hinges and receptacles definitely works! The doors close tighter than maybe they ever did. One thing I noticed is that the receptacles are longer than the originals, which in this case is good. Ordered these replacements. Found it odd that one side was more than the orher, but this was the same on every site I searched. This site was the best price after shipping. They both came in three days, as scheduled, but in individual packages and two different brands? They did both fit, and were easy to install. Only issue that I had was that the screw holes that hold the hinges to the oven were not threaded to receive the small machine screws. Luckily I had a 10-32 tap to solve this problem.... Read more

A friends family had left her refrigerator out on a porch while they were remodeling the house she was supposed to move into. A wind storm blew the refrigerator off the porch and tore the door off. Called a Maytag repair man, said "the bumpers are no longer available". These little things are actually critical to operation, because the lid safety switch needs to be pressed back far enough to sense that the lid is closed, and without the bumpers, this is a little iffy. I obtained the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com. There were no videos or instructions for the repair. I chatted on line with customer service rep for the repairs . You have to remove the three screws in the back of the control panel cover and remove same, but be careful no to detach any wiring. Then you can access the screw that hold in the springs. On the left side you have to remove the liquid bleach cup, which is clipped in before removing the spring. Springs solved the problem. Read more

Replaced the hinges and all parts pertaining to hinges on the refrigerator door. Total cost was approx. $83 and it took 1 hour this morning (Saturday). Now the door is closing tightly. The refrigerator is 10 years old. GE brand. Read more
