This high-limit thermostat is the overheat safety switch for the heating circuit. It opens when excessive temperature is detected to cut power to the heater, protecting the appliance and restoring normal heating when replaced.

Dave, You will want to double check the wiring of the unit to ensure that everything is wired properly. It could be that the door switch wiring is reversed or the thermal fuse on the blower housing is faulty.

Hello Jamie, This normally is related to air flow. This would point to the home ducting. It should be short and straight as possible. It should also be the solid, rigid material since the flexible has had so many issues with crimping.

Hello Adam. You need to check the venting of the unit. If it is clear and is not kinked, you will need to replace the thermostat 00170857. It has become weak and is tripping.
