Patrick September 13, 2020 for Model Number 790.47913604 I have Sears Elite double oven, the bottom oven works fine, the top oven over heats. I replaced the probe but that didn't work. It must be a control board of some sort. The key pads all work.
Stan March 25, 2020 for Model Number 790.48129800 My wall oven display is missing digits and one time had an F15 error
1 Answer Stan, the error F15 indicates a failed display control 316576303 and that it would need to be replaced. Read More...
Stephen January 19, 2020 for Model Number 790.48129801 Have a Kenmore Elite Double Oven. When oven is on and I open the door, an F15 error code is shown and oven shuts off. Cannot open lower oven (not on) when upper oven is on or the F15 code is shown and oven shuts off. Cooking works fine provided I do not open either oven door. In addition, when oven is OFF, visible electronic face is also showing many words (backlit) even tho they are not activated. Previously, only the time was visible. I have tried shutting off oven at Breaker Box but symptoms still persist.
1 Answer Stephen, Per the manufacturer, you will need to replace the control panel for that error code. 318366208 Read More...
Steve May 02, 2016 for Model Number 790.42003605 Receiving "err" when trying to run oven in self-clean mode. Get about 15-20 minutes in to mode when unit gets error code. Unit is double oven, so switched sensor from lower unit to upper unit. Ran longer in self-clean mode but still received "err". Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Steve. It sounds like a control board issue. However, being a Kenmore, we can not get tech sheets for these. Sorry. Read More...
Ron January 20, 2015 for Model Number 790497113604 I have a double oven Kenmore Elite. When the oven is started in either the warm up mode or the bake mode the elements click on and off so fast they don't hardly heat up. It take an hour for the oven to heat up. The oven works perfect in the broil mode. Can you suggest a solution.
1 Answer Hello Ron. Make sure the bake element is good. If so, replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mike December 09, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore Elite Double Oven 790.48143800 My Kenmore Elite double oven will not hold the temperature in the upper oven. The lower oven works fine. I have never received an error code. When I set the temperature at 350°F, the digital readout displays the temperature as it goes up to 350°F and then the display stays at 350°F. Unfortunately, an oven thermometer inside the oven shows the temperature dropping down to around 225°F. If I start a new oven cycle the temperature is displayed starting at the 225°F until it goes up to 350°F. Then it behaves in the same way. One of your online assistants said the troubleshooting chart said it was either the controller or the temperature sensor. I asked if it could be the relay board and was told that didn't come up in the trouble shooting guide. My current controller is 316443837 and I was told AP4508430 was the replacement part so it was ordered. When the new controller was installed the oven behaved in the same way, so the controller is not the problem. So then I checked the resistance in both the upper and lower temperature sensors and they read the same. Since the lower oven works fine, I'm assuming the temperature sensor is not the issue. That leaves the relay board to question. My current relay board is 316443928A. Sears shows the replacement part to be 316443928. When I look up this part on your system it shows part # AP4365763 but it's "out of stock." I have not inquired about its availability but I am concerned it might not be the fix for the problem. I'm thinking the only other part that could be causing the problem would be the bottom heating element in the upper oven. When I turn the upper oven on the display shows the bottom element going on. After a short time it shows the upper heating element going on and then it shows the convection elements going on, so all 3 elements are used to bring the oven up to temperature. I can feel the heat from the convection and upper elements so I know they're working but I can't tell if the bottom element is working since it's hidden under the oven floor. When 350°F is reached, the elements are turned off. To retain the heat an element must be turned on sometime but it never is, so the temperature drops. Does this mean the bottom element could be bad or is it the relay board that is not turning it on? The online assistant said there should be a tech sheet available with instructions for running in diagnostic mode. Since I have never seen an error code, I'm thinking that would be a real time saver. I need this oven fixed for the holidays so what do I do? Please, can you provide me with assistance? Thanks, Mike
1 Answer Hello Mike, This sounds like a bad relay on the relay board 316443928. It shows out of stock which simply means that we do not have one in the warehouse. If you order it, this only means that it will take 5 to 6 business days to ship. Read More...
Larry August 29, 2013 for Model Number 790.42003600 The upper oven of my Kenmore double wall oven works in all modes, except it continually beeps until I shut it off. The lower oven works normally. I've had the temp sensor (part# 316217002) and one of the control boards (parts# 316443910) replaced, to no avail. Your thoughts?
1 Answer Larry, It sounds like you may have a faulty keypad. If one of the keys is stuck then it will cause the beeping noise. Read More...
