Dick, If the burner is not clicking then you will want to check the ignition switches to make sure that they are good. To do this you will want to remove the control panel of the unit and test the switches for continuity in the light position. If there is no continuity then the switches are faulty. If the switches have continuity then make sure that the burner heads are clean and make sure the igniters do not have any cracks in the ceramic around the electrode.

Tony, To remove the main top you will want to remove the burner knobs, grates, burner caps and burner heads. You will also need to pull the unit out from installation to replace the main top. The control panel will need to be removed by removing the screws (one on either side of the unit and 3 under the control panel in the door opening). Once this is done remove the control panel. There will be screws on the inner part of where the control panel is that will need to be removed as well as several around the perimeter. Once all the screws securing the main top are removed, and making sure that the orifice holders are not still screwed to the top, lift the top off and install the new one. The igniter can also be changed at this time. Reassemble unit in reverse.
