My filter needs to be changed and I tried taking it out, but the water/ice feature doesn't work without a filter. If I purchase a bypass filter, will it work? Secondly, will I need to continually replace the bypass filter, or will it work for a duration of time? Thirdly, must I use a manufacturer's filter or will an after market filter work just as well?
1 Answer Hello Kym, the filter head needs either a filter cartridge or the bypass to allow water through it. With an R/O system supplying filtered water to the ref you do not need a filter cartridge just the bypass and it does not need to be replaced as the filter cartridges do. Read More...
