Greg January 14, 2014 When I install part number 241791602 is this simply a bypass that will allow me to have water and ice at the dispenser just not filtered or is it a plug that will disable the water and ice feature?
Don January 08, 2014 for Model Number FGUN2642LF6 Is 241791602 the correct bypass filter for my Frigidare Gallery model number 241791602? If so, will running a bypass filter cause any potential harm to my refrigerator or will it be mechanically fine just not filter water? Thanks.
1 Answer Don, Yes, the 242294402 is the correct filter bypass assembly for the model number you supplied. No installing the assembly will not cause any harm to the refrigerator or it's operation. In some cases, you have to install the bypass in order to maintain the proper operation of the dispenser and ice maker(low water pressure/flow, reverse osmosis units and whole home filter systems. Just make sure you install the assembly correctly and it locks in place and activates the internal switch, and all will be fine. Read More...
Mindy January 03, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool WRF560SEYM This bypass plug looks like it would fit my new Whirlpool WRF560SEYM. Could you please advise me if this would work or a different one. We also use a Pur filter part number W10295370 if that helps any. Thank you!
1 Answer Mindy, Your unit is designed to be used without a filter bypass plug. You can just pull the filter out and close the flap and it will continue to work normally. Read More...

Sharon December 04, 2013 for Model Number FPHB2899LF4 I have a reverse osmosis system (Kinetico) which sends water to the refrigerator (ice maker and water dispenser). I have not replaced the water filter yet. Would it be better to bypass the water filter on the refrigerator since I have the reverse osmosis system? or Should I continue to use both filters? If not which part number should I order based on model number of refrigerator?
1 Answer Sharon, Due to the pressure fluctuations in the reverse osmosis unit, and it is recommended to have a consistent minimum pressure of 32 PSI at the water valve connection, it would be best to remove the filter, and install the filter bypass assembly. This way you will be able to to reduce the possibility of excess fluctuation and intermittent issues with the ice maker and dispenser. Read More...
