Bob April 21, 2015 for Model Number GLEC30S9ESB Occasionally a burner just come on even if the knob is in the off position. Is that a control issue and is it isolated to just that burner. IE I only need to replace the one control.
1 Answer Bob, Yes this issue should be just a element control issue and would just need to replace a single control to correct the issue. The part number for the control is 316443401. Read More...

Pete S. November 29, 2012 for Model Number GLEC30S9EB, Ser No. NF60622537 I found your site searching for an answer to mt Frig. Cooktop GLEC30S9EB, Ser No. NF60622537... I saw your Q & A with two other people having the same model, However,...my situation is the Back Right Dual Burner... The inner "Smaller" Center portion of the Dual Burner heats up fine when the dial is selected for either Small or Large size, but when the Large size is selected on the dial, the Outer element ring does not turn on, only the inner. I used your suggestion to Peter to shine a flashlight down through the glass to inspect the burner for any burn spots or abnormalities, and it looks fine and intact to me, similar to the others. Could it be the Dial/Switch or ??
1 Answer Hello Pete, You will want to check the element from connector 4a to 2. You should have 240vac to this point with burner turned on. If you do not have 240 vac then you would need to replace switch 316443401. If you do have 240vac then you would replace the element 318198925. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
