Barbara July 04, 2023 for Model Number LFFU1465DW6 My husband discarded the condensor cover access panel for our upright Frigidaire freezer. Have been unable to locate replacement on line. Is there any way to make a cardboard cover and how would you know where to cut vent holes and how many?

Nancy June 21, 2022 for Model Number GLRT182SAQ2 Frigidaire fridge rear access cover, OEM part 241733911. I removed this access cover. Attached to it is what appears to be a glued on filter, which is deteriorating and falling apart. However the replacement part does not have this filter. Is this filter, or whatever it is called, a separate part? How can I replace it? Is it necessary to replace it? It was, of course, full of dust and grime.
1 Answer Nancy, the filter on the rear cover is used to dampen the sound from the compressor section and would not be necessary if the sound is within a reasonable level. The primary use of the cover is to allow proper air flow in the compressor section so cleaning the dust would be necessary. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list the dampener pad that would be used with the cover. Read More...

Nadège August 23, 2018 Is the cardboard fireproof, or fire resistant? I'm afraid the heat coming from the back of the fridge could cause a regular type of cardboard to burn and cause fire in my house. Is there a risk at all?

Anna August 23, 2018 Hello, Is this part used to prevent dust from accumulating on the coils? Is it ok to use the fridge if this part is missing ?
1 Answer Anna, "is this part used to prevent dust from accumulating on the coils? is a secondary reason for the rear compartment cover. The primary purpose of the cover is to direct the proper amount of air flow through the compressor compartment to properly cool and transfer the heat from the refrigerant to properly cool. Yes, the refrigerator will work without the cover, but eventually, you'll start having cooling issues and premature failure of the compartment components. It's best to get the cover and install it as soon as possible. Thanks, Read More...

Kate October 16, 2016 Bought a scratch and dent frig, Wards 7.4 cu ft. Bottom back panel is missing, hubby is a machinist so can make one out of sheet metal but we are wondering about venting. Should he cut vents in the area of the fan or the compressor or where? Should there be a blank/solid area in the panel or should the vents go all the way across the entire panel? Should there be any insulation anywhere inside the panel? Thank you.
1 Answer Kate, Any insulation on the inside of the compartment cover, would be more for sound deadening purposes than air flow insulation. If the noise level isn't disturbing you, then you probably wont need it. Being a small 7 or 8 CU.FT. refrigerator, it probably has a "static" condenser on the back of the refrigerator(most small capacity refrigerators do). Yes, you will want to place a few vents in the cover, nothing too big or elaborate, just three or four vents 3 or 4 inches long at each end of the replacement cover. Good Luck, Thanks Read More...
