The Grease Filter is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire microwaves. It traps grease-laden smoke and particles released from cooking. Color: silver. Measures about 6 inches wide by 8 inches deep.

Causes of a bad grease filter can include clogging from accumulated grease and debris, physical damage from cleaning or handling, or wear and tear over time. A clogged or damaged filter can reduce the efficiency of the range hood, leading to poor ventilation and potential damage to the range hood motor.

Symptoms of a bad grease filter include:

  • Reduced airflow or suction
  • Excessive smoke or odors during cooking
  • Grease buildup on kitchen surfaces
  • Visible damage or clogging of the filter

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Hello Kaitlyn. It is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the filter when it is dirty. If you try to wash it, it will not get clean on the inside.

Al I for Model Number fgmv205kfa frigidaire microwave

Bought this microwave in July The grease filters underneath 2 of them keep falling down. There looks like there should be a frame to hold each one because the openings have 2 raised clip-like pieces of metal at one end and 2 screw holes at the other end Without something to lay the filters into they fall out when the microwave is turned on Called Frigidaire and they say it slides into the opening and pulls forward by the tab on the filter. /not so. We never reached conclusion as to how they fit in. Is there some framelike oblong piece that the filter goes into or does it just lay precariously in the opening Thanks al

1 Answer

Al, Unfortunately there is not a frame for the filters to go into. Frigidaire did advise correctly that you would slide the back into placed then slide the filter forward to lock into place. So in a sense it will just lay in the opening.

Hello Beverly, The grease screens are in the bottom of the unit. These are removed from the bottom and usually just move sightly to one side or the other, the end slips down, and the filter is pulled out from the other direction.
