Anthony, For this issue the ice stripper on the ice maker would most likely cause the icemaker to jam up.

A few weeks ago Sears came out and replaced our defrost heater because it was covered under our home warranty. The next morning I came downstairs and I smelled a burning smell from the freezer. Turns out they had the heater bumped up against a piece of insulation that was melting every time it did a defrost cycle. Everything in my freezer and refrigerator smelled like that burning insulation. My ice tastes like it as well. They came today and replaced the ice maker. It helped, but I can still taste it in the ice. What would you think the next step would be? What should get replaced next? I think we are just going to do it ourselves.

Julia, There really are no parts that will get rid of an odor like you are having. There is a refrigerator deodorizer 78956 which will help. You may want to try to clean the unit with a water vinegar solution also because vinegar will help to neutralize the smell and use the deodorizer in conjunction with this and it should help to get rid of the odor from the ice and unit.

Hello Patti. There are tabs on the ends of the stripper that must snap into place to hold it there.

Mark, A proper model number of the product would be a great help. But, basically there's an issue with the water supply. You probably want to start by replacing the water inlet valve. Your ice maker, when the fill cycle is activated should supply 4 to 4.5 oz. of water and fill all 8 of the cube molds in 10 seconds or less. Also check and make sure the filter is clean or replaced(if equipped) and the tubes aren't twisted or kinked.

Hello Dixie! Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer the ice stripper separate from the icemaker assembly, part number 5989JA0002G, for your model LRSC26920SW. Sorry about that!
