Nick April 15, 2012 for Model Number lgq1442eso dryer runs...no heat and the igniter does light up...any thoughts?
1 Answer Nick, as long as the igniter cycles off in a few seconds, and you're sure you have gas suppllied, then the most likely issue is a weak or "open" gas valve coil 5303931775 set. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

Dan May 23, 2011 for Model Number fgr231as3 Gas dryer does not get hot , but everything else seems to be correct. Is there a repair manual with a troubleshooting section and an exploded view of the machine would be helpful. I do believe that the problem is in the igniter, and I know that there is an electrical test for this. Thanx Dan.
1 Answer Hello Dan. You can look at the Carborundum and make sure it is not broken. You will need a multi meter MA-DM1 to test the your meter probe across the two ends of the wires, and check for a closed circuit between 50-500 on a rx1 scale. Here is a link you can refer to for help with using a multi meter: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html . Hope this helps!
