Kim April 23, 2021 for Model Number FFGC3626SSB I wanted to ask: is the female part that slips into the post on the cooktop black or silver? On our originals knobs that is black and those break easily and the inner sleeve slipped out on one. A replacement I bought elsewhere was silver on that bottom piece and is MUCH more sturdy!
1 Answer Kim, The reinforcement ring inserted into the end of the burner knob shaft is usually black in color, we have seen them in a coated silver color as well as unfinished spring steel. Some manufacturers will apply the stainless steel coating to the complete knob assembly, others will only finish the visible portion of the knob. We would imagine the knob with the coated knob shaft would be slightly more sturdy than the non-coated knob shaft. The 5304525746/5304525746 Control Knob is the factory-designated replacement part.
