This latch hook engages the door catch/lock on your appliance to keep the door securely closed. Replacing a worn or broken hook restores proper latching so cycles can start and run reliably. What it does:

  • Engages the mating latch/strike to hold the door shut
  • Ensures the door switch/lock is satisfied so the appliance can operate
  • Helps prevent the door from popping open during use
  • Common symptoms: door won't stay closed, must push/slam to start, "door open" errors, intermittent stopping
What's included:
  • 1 latch hook
Install notes:
  • Disconnect electrical power before servicing; allow any hot surfaces to cool
  • Wear cut-resistant gloves; edges and panels can be sharp
  • Transfer and reuse original screws/fasteners if not supplied
  • After installation, verify door alignment and latch engagement; inspect the mating strike/lock if the issue persists

Quite often the lever will disconnect from the frame brackets, and the lever wont activate the door latch hooks and release the door to open,

Judy, This issue sounds like it would be caused by either a bad latch assembly on the door or one of the switches being faulty. You would want to test the switches to make sure that they are good.
