For Frigidaire Oven Light Lens Cover (Part Number: OEM20969001)

Gary for Model Number PLEB27S8CCC

Oven light went out. Replaced with aftermarket GE 40w appliance bulb. (I have done this successfully on multiple occasions prior) Replacement bulb went out after only few days. Replaced again with 2nd bulb from the two pack I had purchased. That one failed also in matter of days. Had repairmen out, thinking some other issue. He replaced bulb with Frigidaire recommended bulb. Said everything else appeared OK. It's been a few days and the light is still working. Could this be correct? Could using an aftermarket bulb actually be my issue? Or have you seen this issue before? If this bulb fails prematurely, what would you suggest may be the problem? Thanks

Hello Gary, It could have been the quality of the bulbs. You see, appliance bulbs are rated differently since they are made a bit more heavy duty. They are designed to operate in more extreme temperatures so the filaments are more durable. This is the only explanation we can come up with for the issue.

Wally, Not aware of a wax filter. It sounds like the issue would either be a faulty control board or a bad door lock assembly. You would want to check these 2 things which would be the most likely cause for the failure.

Hello Lee, You can use a bottle opener, (flat rubber pad used for removing lids). This usually produces very good results. If there are complications for this, please re-post with the model number so we can see the configuration and any specific steps needed to get a stuck bulb out.
