Paul R December 11, 2019 for Model Number PLMV169DCD I have a SHARP Magnetron RU-MZA324 for this model microwave oven. Other numbers on the magnetron are 2M214 360DT and 06B - 004331. Made in Korea. Does this cross reference with the Magnetrons on your website?
Paul R December 11, 2019 for Model Number PLMV169DCD misrowave oven I was in the middle of a question when my PC inadvertently switched screens and maybe sent an incomplete question. Again, I have a microwave oven that does not heat the food nor water. I suspect the magnetron. In testing the transformer, rectifier and condenser, there seems to be a very high negative DC voltage present, which is delivered to the magnetron's cathode terminal. My multimeter's maximum scale is 1000 VDC. I can "flick" the meter's test probe against the cathode terminal for a split second, and the meter needle deflects quite close to the maximum 1000 VDC position. It seems to me that the 2 - 3 kilovolts DC to run the magnetron is being furnished by the power supply. The internal resistance of the Magnetron's cathode reads zero with my ohmmeter -or about .025 ohm. I strongly suspect the cathode is shorted out internally. If so, it won't emit electrons. Can you tell me what the specifications are for the internal resistance of the magnetron's cathode, and its design VAC and current? I understand there is a small secondary winding in the power transformer that supplies this VAC and power to the cathode. The Magnetron's thermal fuse is open. I bypassed it to test the rest of the circuitry. Thank you. ---Paul
1 Answer Paul, Unfortunately, we would not have the information that you are seeking as the manufacturer does not supply this information. Read More...
B May 13, 2017 for Model Number CPBM189KFB i have frigidaire model # cpbm189kf over the range microwave oven noisy and no heat so i changed diode works for minute and looks like diode blown(diode reads infinity). i checked capacitor/magnetron looks ok. What is problem?
1 Answer B, With the diode blowing out this would be caused by a faulty capacitor even though it appears to be good could still be defective. Read More...
Steve33 November 05, 2013 We have a 2008 Frigidaire microwave. Eveything works, but it will not heat the food. I was told it is the magnetron and the transformer. If so can I replace these parts myself?
1 Answer Hello Steve, As long as you follow all safety precautions and discharge the capacitor, there is no reason why you should not be able to complete this repair. You should test the parts before replacing them since it is seldom that both of these parts will fail at the same time. Read More...
Mexico09 April 06, 2013 for Model Number AP4301392 Is there anything else that could be damaged that does produce heat besides the magnetron?
1 Answer Mexico09, There are a few different parts that can cause a microwave not to heat. The diode, HV transformer, Magnetron, thermal fuse, capacitor and stirrer. Read More...
Dawn January 02, 2012 I need the part #AP4301392 Magnetron for a microwave oven/range combo, but need to know if we order this part, can we get written installation instructions? Live chat with Robin and she looked up this information from what info I have given her and she advised that this is the part number for that unit. Can you help?
1 Answer Hello Dawn. We will need your model number to help you with this. Thanks. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Max B. December 19, 2011 for Model Number PLMVZ169HCA The microwave doesn't heat up, everything else works, light ,turntable, clock, motor is running but makes a louder noise than usual.
1 Answer Hello Max. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the magnetron [AP4301392 and the diode 5304467670 are bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Anthony M. October 26, 2011 for Model Number PLMV169DCE My Frigidaire PLMV169DCE Microwave blows the circuit breaker instantly when I turn power on, but the clock and light works before I do that. Is it the magnetron or can it be something else?
1 Answer Hello Anthony. Yes, it can be the magnetron 5304463439, but there are several thing that can cause this. You could have a bad transformer 5304468156, or a short in the high voltage system. Also, you may have a bad diode 5304468869 on the unit. The diode should only read one way with a meter, and the magnetron should read closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Steve May 10, 2011 for Model Number plmvz169gca Frigidaire PLMVZ169GCA microwave had a major spark inside cooking chamber and blew a fuse. I replaced it again and again. transformer checks ok. How do I check the mag. and the rectifier that is attached to the capacitor?.
