1 Answer Timothy, You can check all the door switches for continuity,Reading should change with microswitch button pressed and open.Possibly could be an user interface shorted and unfortunately those parts are no longer available.I suggest if you find a faulty door switch you replace all three.Part # is [5304408937] and 5304408938 times 2 Read More...
Rich December 13, 2014 for Model Number PLMV169DCB A couple weeks ago I noticed the fan was not working, as the moisture from heated/cooked food could not leave the cavity. Last night entire microwave stopped working .... no turntable, light above stove, clock, etc. Is it just the motor that needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Rich, With the motor not working previously then you will most likely need to replace the fan. You will also want to test each of the thermal fuses in the unit as one of them has most likely failed. Test them for continuity and if there is no continuity then it needs to be replaced. George June 11, 2014 for Model Number FGMV173KBB Microwave heats water but turntable wont turn. Tried unplugging and still not working. The control panel toggles to the on/off position but wont turn. The shaft on roller unit snaps into place fine. The serial no is 9G21300425. Bottom of shaft has a cross pattern that goes into motor I assume.
1 Answer George, If the turn table motor is not running then you will want to check to make sure that it is getting 120 vac to the motor. If so then the motor is bad. Read More...

Kathleen F. September 25, 2012 for Model Number FMV156DCG My microwave is only 4 1/2 years old. Everything is working but the turntable. While I was heating it made a noise and the turntable stopped. Sounds like I need a motor.
1 Answer Hello Kathleen, I would put a glass of water in the unit to serve as a load so the magnetron doesn't get damaged and turn the unit on after accessing the motor and removing the harness from it. If you get 120Vac across the terminals for the motor, the motor has failed. If not, either the control board is bad or the wiring between the control board and the turntable motor is open or shorted. Paul May 29, 2011 for Model Number FMV156DSF My turntable no longer turns while microwave is operating. Heats fine but no motion. I'm going with the assumption that it's the motor that's bad. Is this easily replaced from under the unit or will I have to remove it from the wall?
1 Answer Hello Paul! The turntable motor is part number 5304440021. The unit should not have to be moved from the wall. Here is the typical turntable motor instructions, hope it helps! 1. Disconnect power. 2. Remove the three screws at the assy base bottom. 3. Remove the plastic cover (fixed with a screw) that covers the motor. 4. Remove all of the wires connected. 5. Remove a screw from the motor. 6. Turn the motor to the right and remove it. 7. After replacing the motor, re-install it on the accurate position of the coupler. 8. Assemble in the reverse order.
