The Solenoid Armature and Linkage is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. It is responsible for controlling the dishwasher's draining process by operating the drain valve, which regulates the flow of water out of the dishwasher during the drain cycle.

Symptoms of a bad solenoid armature and linkage include:

  • Dishwasher not filling with water or filling improperly
  • Water leaks from the inlet valve area
  • Dishwasher not advancing to the next cycle due to water flow issues
  • Error codes or indicators related to water inlet problems

Causes of a bad solenoid armature and linkage can include mineral buildup or debris obstructing the valve, electrical malfunctions in the solenoid coil, or mechanical wear and tear of the linkage components.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore dishwasher models.

For Ge Solenoid Armature And Linkage (Part Number: OEM6114978)

Grant for Model Number GSD4000D35BB

My dishwasher will not drain anymore. I removed the bottom panel and watched when it reached the drain stage to see what happens. The solenoid armature snaps down and I see inside the pump housing a door flaps and there looks like water in the pump housing. Seems like the flap isn't shutting all the way. I've checked for blockage in the drain hose and pump housing and didn't find anything. Do I need to replace the solenoid armature only? Thanks. Grant

Grant, This would most likely be either the drain solenoid that is faulty or would be a drain impeller that is damaged if the unit is not draining at all.

Hello Evon. Check and make sure there is no clogs in the drain system. If there is no clogs, look and see if the drain solenoid WD21X10060 is bad and will need to be replaced.

Les, If the unit is leaking from the seal on the housing where the solenoid connects then you would need to replace the whole pump assembly.

Hi Mary. This is the drain valve solonoid plunger. It is part # WD21X10060. It will allow the water to keep draining out if it is not functioning as it should. Thank you.
