Emily Bartlett April 18, 2023 for Model Number DRB1901CW No cold air moves from -25 freezer to the fresh food section now at nearly 60 degrees. Does this mean a fan needs replacing? Or?
1 Answer Emily, Check to see if the evaporator fan is running. If it is not then test it for 120 Vac and if it has proper voltage then the fan would need to be replaced. Also, check to make sure that the vents under the crisper drawers at the back are not blocked. Read More...
Melanie March 05, 2021 for Model Number GEW9200LW0 the fan will not pull off! I'm trying to replace a broken evaporator fan motor and the fan absolutely does not pull off even with a good amount of pull and effort. I've tried turning it just a bit at a time to see if there was a notch or such it needed to connect with to slide out - that didn't work. It feels like something is catching it.
1 Answer Melanie, The model number you sent us is of a dryer. Can you check the model and send us the correct one. From your description, I am assuming you are repairing a refrigerator. Read More...
1 Answer Jeff, a five-bladed fan will slightly move more air than a four-blade fan, when properly installed on the fan motor shaft. The important consideration is the "pitch" of the blades, just like an airplane propeller, the "deeper" the pitch, the more air it moves, the faster the speed. Read More...
1 Answer Rod R, Based on the information provided shows very few parts available for this model without the revision numbers at the end of the model number and this fan blade does not show to be compatible. Read More...

Ty April 08, 2019 for Model Number GTH17JBB2RWW I have a bad Condenser fan motor upon removing noticed the black plastic fan blade has these 12 raised nubs sticking outward on both sides of the circular hub? Some of these look as though they were worn down irregularly some to almost nothing and others are noticeably longer? Is this a bad fan blade, or normal? It looks like it would cause an imbalance?
1 Answer Ty, it could potentially cause a slight imbalance, however, it can be tested for imbalance by observation during operation. If the fan blade does not wiggle around during operation, then it does not have an imbalance issue. Read More...
Nelson Calderon July 29, 2018 for Model Number GTT18HBSBRWW Video jumps from placing the fan to replacing the cover without showing how deep into the motor pin it was pushed in. What is the proper depth for the evaporator fan?
1 Answer Nelson, some fan blades have a natural stopping position, if not, push it far enough to get a good solid hold, temporarily mount it and see if it fits in the shroud ok, then adjust if needed. Read More...
Melissa December 14, 2014 for Model Number GTS18FBSBRCC There's noise in the evaporator area (top freezer). Began watching videos and taking apart. Am stuck because can't get fan blade off. Pulled very hard (began to rock fridge). It seems as if there's a little band/nut that might be holding it on? (Or should I force it, and risk breaking something?) It definitely won't pop off as videos say. So, I can't go any further with the diagnostics, or even tell if it has both grommets, etc. Help!
1 Answer Melissa, The fan blade does just slide off but it may take some force to do so. Check the motor to make sure that the shaft is not loose which could cause the noise. Read More...
